On the Plateau de Valensole when following the route D6 there are some exceptionally large lavender fields to be found. The light is typically so bright in the area that apart from sunrise and sunset my camera remained in my bag for the vast majority of the time that I was there. However, on the evening of this particular photograph everything came together spectacularly at sunset. Once the sun started to fall towards the horizon the colours began to build, the D6 was littered with cars parked on the side of the road to watch natures light display, despite the threat of the local gendarmerie driving past. File 0108.
