Elphin is a small crofting community located in the Assynt

area of Sutherland in Scotland and lies approximately fifteen miles north from Ullapool. Elphin has a population of around seventy people, the majority of who are still dependent upon crofting for their livelihoods.
This derelict butt and ben lies close to the road on the way out of Elphin towards Ardvreck Castle and on to the wild and rugged beauty which is Sutherland. File 8214.
