Starting from the small hamlet of Escot in the western Pyrenees the N134 climbs just over nine kilometers to the top of the pass named the Col de Marie Blanc. This view looks down into the Aspe Valley over the autumn colours of the forest. In the foreground the bracken has turned golden and a holly tree is laden with red berries.

From close to the summit of the Col de Marie Blanc on the N134 you look down the valley and out towards the Aspe Valley. Early morning mists are just dispersing and the blues in the sky are being highlighted by the diffused light from the early morning sun.

I had searched the previous day to find a different type of image and on the salt marshes to the west of Mont St Michel I found an old dilapidated wooden shack. The last soft light of the day highlighting both Mont St Michel and the wooden shack provides an interesting contrast.
